Shockwave
Hello all! Finally my band is at the point of gigging and releasing music. For about 10 years (And 3 cities later) I have been desperate to join or form a Melodic Hardcore Punk rock band in the being of A Wilhelm Scream, No Trigger and Strike Anywhere. Last year I had enough of waiting and decided to give a serious go of it. A couple of pub meetings later and finally got a proto lineup. Took a few months to get a stable bunch of people and then the drummer left! Managed to recruit an Indonesian guy who was amazing, I had some real reservations as he didnt own a kit and claimed he air drummed to learn our songs. Well what an amazing guy! Total rhythm brother. Organising practices, kit, Band logo competitions, gigs, contacts, demos, photo shoots etc. I am exhausted! My other half has been so understanding considering I should have been helping her plan our upcoming engagement party! Finally released everything on Facebook today, Demo, Logo, Photos and first gig announcement and I am relieved! But cant stop there, we don't quite have enough material for the first gig so we need to hurry and learn some more covers in the next week! I feel very musically fulfilled right now! If you have the time and the drive you CAN form it. It just took me three city moves, a divorce and lots of sweat and depression to get there! If you guys could give us a listen to see what you think that would be great! mrtcat
Seems your leap of faith with the drummer really paid off, he sounds great. Seriously good work though, it takes someone properly dedicated to drag a band to life. I really hope it works out for you.
Cosmo Valdemar
That's a ripping solo! Makes me want a Stingray.
Wolverinebass
Nice work Rob. Proof that with enough will something other than indie or covers can be played. Finding people to do progressive music myself to do something really technical is appalling!! I feel your previous pain. Really enjoyed listening to your stuff. I would pop down and see your gig as it's not very far from me, but I'm seeing Tesseract next Friday. Hope it goes well for you.
Skybone
Getting a band up & running is only part of the battle, you have to keep the momentum going, actively promote yourselves wherever and whenever you can, write songs, rehearse, all while trying to keep your daily life going as well. It's a job in itself, but a job worth doing. Good luck with the band and good luck with the upcoming engagement party & wedding.
kendall
Top stuff. Great sound and energy from all. Your vocalist was a good find too. @Wolverinebass. Seeing Tesseract on Friday? I am jealous. Edited February 8, 2016 by kendall
keefbaker
Nice and messy the way a high velocity punk band should be. Your vocalist kind of sounds like Joey Belladonna which is superb! Crazy bass run!
FuNkShUi
Nice Reminded me of I against I. Which is a good thing IMO

Shockwave
Gig went very well! My vocals were pretty poor though... We just released the full Demo now! Better mixed and mastered then the last post. https://soundcloud.com/ships-down/sets/ships-down-demo-
HMX
I'll have a listen! I love that sort of stuff and have been wanting to join/start a band in the style of Propagandhi/A Wilhelm Scream for quite a while - though it's hard just to meet like-minded folk, never mind jam with them and go from there... So, nice work and mega bass chops. Very Brian Robinson and a tone to boot! Intro to 'Sunderland' reminds me of 'Things I Like' by Propagandhi: Edited February 17, 2016 by HMX

allighatt0r
The drummer story is pretty unbelievable! You'd never know! That's great. Similar to Dave Grohl's story of learning by bashing pillows with drum sticks. Sounds awesome, not really the sort of music I tend to listen to, although I love MFATGG and enjoy NOFX.
