I have to do this a lot (although I generally stay for at least 2 songs). Completely down to the fact that I need to get public transport everywhere though.

Absolutely.
One of the worst things about having friends who are musicians is the expectation that you will go to their bloody gigs.

Yes. If people don't come back to see you play a second time and aren't asking when you're playing next, you probably need to ask some serious questions.
