Guest bassman7755
"world music": anything thats crap and from a different country. Typically predominately involving percussion since the protagonists exist in a culture which hasn't advanced enough to produce proper instruments than can play actual notes. phil.c60
"Talent" - the thing that singers think they have which means they don't need to rehearse. It doesn't seem to matter whether they do anyway, as they'll still come in at the wrong time, forget a verse and make up the words as they go along and then look at you as if it's your fault. Daz39
Noodle: what bassists do with style and flair in music shops when trying to think of the tunes they were going to play to try out this bass they've picked up. Alternatively: what guitarists do in the same instance, but usually at ear-splitting volume with too much distortion and some added: watch how badly I can sweep pick eh?! TheGreek
Bass - the only instrument important enough to have it's own knob on your amp. Note that "guitar"/ "vocals"/ "drums" don't, thus confirming that we are the most important part of the band and play the coolest instrument!! NickD
Rehearsal: Usually a full band gathering in an expensive rented room. This time is set aside for the sole purpose of allowing the singer to begin to learn the songs that the rest of the band have been learning in their own time for a number of weeks previously. drTStingray
Groove (alt) - the music slot on a vinyl record (music playing medium), the width and depth of which is dictated by the level of bass - when filled with other instruments it gets shallow and bass less. Hence bass players are crucial to and control the groove and other people sometimes fill it with fluff .......
