bonzodog
Jammed a new cover last night which we have decided to put in the set - The Beatles Come together. We share vocals and I've volunteered to sing this one. Can't belive how odd the lyrics are!! I normally use visual pictures in my head to remember words to songs but I've no chance on this one...they are really off the wall. May have to get the music stand out
Hobbayne
Lennon originally wrote that for Timothy Leary's campaign for governor of California against Ronald Reagan, which promptly ended when Leary was sent to prison for possession of marijuana:[sup][4][/sup]
colgraff
I definitely needs songs to have meaning in order to remember them. I am also something of a prudish singer. I find songs such as Sixty Minute Man difficult to sing with a straight face let alone the likes of Sir Psycho Sexy or Prison Sex.
spectoremg
Spooky. I've just taken the plunge with lead vocals and I'm already thinking music stand

JapanAxe
I use pictures, stories (if the song doesn't have one), and sets of initials to remember lyrics. The OP is right - the more random the words are, the harder they are to remember.
Oopsdabassist
I dally with BV's but that is usually my limit as I couldn't carry a tune without a bucket We decided on Space Oddity recently, but singer was really struggling with the lyrics, and his phrasing so I kinda sang guide vocal under him, on one take he just gave up completely and left me to it, I surprised myself by 1) keeping in tune all the way through 2) kept bass line going at same time.. I was ecstatic and want to keep it in, he was miffed and wants to can the song I think i managed as its sort of spoken rather than sung and its also at the bottom of my range so I'm not taking so much effort and staying in tune better. makes me smile everytime I think about it....easily pleased eh?
