It certainly isn't vintage sunburst but as the OP says, it looks a little dark for honeyburst - tobacco burst possibly? Easiest way to find out is via EBMM customer service - give them the serial number and they'll give you the build date also.

It's really honeyburst. People confuse it with the lighter 'cherryburst'. How I am do certain? I've owned a Musicman Sterling in the exact same colors. The borders of the instrument tend to be brownish, instead of red. ;)

I had one of these in tobacco burst.
One bass I wish I had never sold as it was so easy to be heard through everything, inlcluding psycho drummers.

Considering keeping this as I don't have to sell it right now - but will open up the floor to offers of trades ... Most specifically something nice and P Bass-y :)
