cureswhatailsye
Hi All! Wondered if anyone has any experience with pedals that don't seem to work in combination with each other. My issue is this: I have an SKB powered board with the following lineup: Bass --> Boss Volume Pedal --> Palmer octaver --> Big Muff --> Mooer bass sweeper envelope filter --> TC Corona Chorus --> Tomsline Chorus (need 2 different chorus sounds available!) --> Mooer Shimverb Rever pedal I only just added the Shimverb, and ever since I did, after playing for about 5mins, the Shimverb signal cuts out (LED on but no sound, fine when bypassed), and the Corona just stops working completely, no LED or effect at all. The other chorus develops a distorted sound. The other pedals still work fine! Everything works fine independently, and the problem goes away when I get rid of the Shimverb - what is happening and can I do anything without ditching the reverb altogether? Suggestions welcome! Thanks!
GOM
Hmmm, sounds like the power supply might not be up to the job. What happens if you leave the Shimverb in and remove one of the other pedals?
Woodinblack
Yep, not enough power, so the power rail is dipping, and it those pedals are the ones that can't cope with that.
Thunderbird
As above you need more power by the sound of it

dannybuoy
What are you using right now and what's the power rating of it? It should be written on it somewhere in A or mA. 1A should handle that lot no problem - it's the digital pedals that chew through the poower though, you can't run too many of those off a supply only designed to power one pedal. cureswhatailsye
It's an SKB powered board. 500mA. I've ditched the second chorus and that seems to have sorted it. Annoying though, as I wanted to add a few more!
cheddatom
I use a lot of digital effects. I have 3 PSUs adding up to about 5A and sometimes I need them all! I can't imagine being able to cope with 500mA
Ghost_Bass
I only have 5 pedals but when i got my PSU with daisychain from "effectpowersupplies.com" i went for a 3A one so i never have any problems if i decide to add more stompboxes to the collection. I often had to power up guitarrist pedals that went out of batteries, never had a problem and the PSU is still going strong since about 2007. 500mA is very little for a pedalboard, i can remember a couple of pedals that take all those amps on its own. paul_5
500mA is very little for a pedalboard, i can remember a couple of pedals that take all those amps on its own.
This. Digital pedals (you've got a couple on there) tend to draw more current than analogue ones.
