solofunkyjazz Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 (edited) I just bought one from ebay, a bit of a bargain as well it seems. Edited October 4, 2008 by solofunkyjazz Quote
TheRev Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Try the Thomastik acoustic bass strings - very mellow but with just the right ammount of top end zing. Quote

Darkstrike Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Nothing wrong with using regular strings, what if you play flats? I always use electric strings, I really dislike acoustic bass guitar strings. Quote
Rich Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 What a cracker. Are you keeping it fretless, or getting it fretted? Quote
Paul Cooke Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008
It's one year old and as new, with about 10 hours playing time on it, the price on the website says it should cost about $5000.
$5000, 1 year old and only ten hours play on it??? I've lost count of the number of hours I've been playing my Tanglewood and I've only had it a couple of months now... everything's bedding in nicely now and the tone's starting to mellow out. Quote
lozbass Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I know the guy from whom you're buying this - one of the most friendly and honest people I've had the pleasure of dealing with. If he says its as new, I'd wager that it is. I saw the auction and was tempted - you have an incredible bargain. Quote
