Must be great playing in a band with the missus. I like her voice too.

I'm in 2 bands - same 3 people.

Dr Blue is a rocky blues band that plays pubs , blues festivals etc - often with an added harmonica player. Think we're coming up 10 years late next year - or is it 7000 years?!

ZZ Eliminator is a ZZ Top trib that plays bigger pubs/clubs. Been doing that about 2 years.

Quite often Dr B supports Eliminator so we don't have to pay anybody else!

We're based around Wakefield , West Yorks. We're not young - apart from the guitar player but only because it's his surname!

We're not pro - though I'm sure we could earn a decent living if we were prepared to forego the safety net of mid-life normality!

These days we play , maybe , twice a week on average , though we did much more than that up until the last year or two. Lots of reasons for that , the main one being we choose not to. Drummer Martyn's work has changed which we have to take into account and I like to spend time on my boat of a weekend.
We are the Steely-Eyed Missile Men-we play, to quote Sean of this forum 'Cool Dirty Boogie'. Mainly Blues/R'n'B/Blues rock with the odd modern one thrown in if we feel like it, with original material also gradually filtering in as I write 'em. All Ambulance staff, for our sins. Currently on a gig-hunting drive. Lots of new pics added to the Myspace page, link in signature.
Hay deepthought are you familar with the Bucket boys at all. caught them last week. awesome. that Tim renwick sure is some g....r player.

We're Aeterna, dubbed a "not quite progressive metal" band....although due to several lineup changes in the past year our current material ranges from thrash to post-rock, our latest endeavors seem to be heading in the direction of progressive/experimental metal.

Again, due to band members coming and going (myself included) we've been set back a bit, however we're hoping to be gigging the cambridgeshire area by early 2009 and covering the rest of the UK soon after.
a bassist who can hardly get out of the house due to work / childcare commitments. Why are we not famous?
 my god that sounds familiar

well
one band, Misguided (used to call ourselves misguided groove but its sounds really w***y and we don't play and funky stuff so a bit irrelevent)
classic rock/early heavy rock covers, you know the sort
haven't got a myspace page sorted yet as i'm STILL waiting on photos and trying to get some samples which both seem to be impossible to do for us for some reason :)

Threnody.

em i dont no what it is it metal thats progressive but not prog if your with me. we are writing stuff that reminds me of the black dahlia murder.

there is a link to out myspace below in my sig but it is severly out of date and all but one song (fallen son) was recorded before the current drummer lead guitarist and myself joined. Fallen son was recorded and mixed in 3 hours which is why it sounds awful. We have cut the over the top intro out which is a good thing.

Jellied Reels Rocky Ceilidh band for the last 15 years or so ..
http://www.jellied-reels.co.uk/
The booking book has a partners and family induced limiter fitted - one Friday and one Saturday per month, unless the families can come too - festivals and fun days etc.. Loads of fun and loads of work .. and we're more or less fully booked through to October next year

Currently between bands for my Sax side.
Do the occasional session:
There's some of my baritone on the Carole Mountain tune on the Modesty Blaise Myspace but as that's the single edit my solo's missing :)

Then regular Dep on upright stick for
Pluck and Squeeze Twmpath band (that's Welsh for humping, and Barn Dancing  )
http://www.pluckandsqueeze.com/

Dep for a few other rock/folk outfits
Various other things that have no web presence

and a possible bass + guitar duo thing ...

I'm in a punkish/rockish/bluesish covers band called the Barking Spiders. We are all forty-somethings and play stuff we like, so you can imagine what that's like. We still get the younger lads jumping about. We are, of course, completely invisible to women :)

No website despite/because of that being my day job. Next week......

Caricatures - doom metal, always looking at slower louder and lower.

Don't ask about the band name, or if you must, ask the drummer, not because he knows, but it annoys him most of all.

Myspace as in sig for those with them off.

Got 1 gig in Trowbridge coming up, gonna see how things go now we have shed a guitarist. Gonna be under-rehearsed as drummer is on tour with Joe Garcia and Rose Kemp.

Certainly am-Willie their drummer is a workmate of mine at my 'other' job. Their whole lineup is an awesome array of talent, they've played with some huge names in their time-Floyd, Clapton-they were never going to be anything but brilliant with a lineup like that (Gits! :) )
HSD eh? Don't go a bunch on the stuff personally-afraid none of my home town brewery's output does much for me-just don't get on with the taste-it's to do with their water source I reckon, although Tribute isn't bad. Used to drink an awful lot of Wreckers (keg version of HSD) in my youth-probably what put me off it! I prefer Skinner's Ales from Truro.

Im in a band called Middenheim. We play Blackened Death Metal apparently and have been going since the end of 2006. We were using sequenced drums through our Keyboard (which soundguys hated), as we couldnt find a drummer in this area, but luckily we are now training one up ready for heavy gigging next year hopefully!

You can hear our stuff at www.myspace.com/middenheimuk

Let me know what any of you think!

Same here, we probably have about 30 original songs (plus loads of random riffs) and only a handful recorded :-/

World is Static

"Featuring the beautiful vocals of Heather Frances 'World Is Static' is a band that fits somewhere between alt, rock, metal & gothic. Hailing from County Durham in the north east of England & formed in 2005 by singer/songwriter Heather Frances & guitarist/songwriter Simon Chester. The duo were later joined by Sam Tuckett on bass & Chris Myers on drums. Taking their name from a song on the Static Prevails album by Jimmy Eat World the band play down tuned melodic tunes.
World Is Static were the first band to be played on the test transmission of UK based radio station Ne1fm. The band were also played on the first ever AlterNation show on the same radio station and described as "County Durham's finest gothic rockers".

The song Dying Inside was released by Hollywood-based record label 272 Records on the compilation album 'The Funeral Volume 1' (2007). Borders have picked up our first 2 CD's & are available now from the Gateshead branch.

Highlights of the WiS musical journey so far include playing Newcastle University, Trillians, various UK festivals & supporting signed bands like Fables Last Stand (End Of The Trail Records) & Crud (Full Effect Records)."

We've got CDs and stuff available, £2 I think. If anyone's interested PM. We're hoping to record in a proper studio come December too.
