timmo
It looks like the back of a dining chair
TheGreek
I don't get these so called "upright basses" you see for sale everywhere. Isn't this a perfect example of a bass on a stand??
colgraff
Well, its very stylish looking. I think. Looks unplayable otherwise.
PlungerModerno
It looks like the back of a dining chair
+1 It's not hideous, but it is rather chairlike!
I don't get these so called "upright basses" you see for sale everywhere. Isn't this a perfect example of a bass on a stand??
That's how it looks to me. There is a few "crossover" or hybrid designs like the Zeta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myE6mnKkJjc They seem a little more practical than the 32" by 20" bodied creation on the ebay listing.
Well, its very stylish looking. I think. Looks unplayable otherwise.
I think it's pretty cool. I'm not conviced it'll sound good - given it's using a MM style humbucker. Even in single coil mode it'll sound Like a fretless electric bass with a pickup near the bridge. I'd want at least a piezo to blend with the magnetic pickup.
alyctes
Close to pointless IMO, because it can't be played with a bow (needs a DB-type bridge and FB, which in turn means a DB-ish angle between neck and body).
