Go and trade them for strings in your local shop - sell/trade on the basis that they're great reading material for customers to browse while they wait and can even boost GAS.

There's not really any guitar shops worth visiting round my way, and I'm not going to lug them all up to the Bass Gallery - they've probably had someone try something similar before anyway ;-)
