Dazed Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) I've emailed Thomann a few days ago but not heard anything so thought I would ask here as I believe a few have ended up with bass chatters. I'm trying to find out a few things. The weight? Bridge spacing Pickup dimensions If anyone has one and can help I'd appreciate it. Feel free to add any real life info too. Thanks in advance Edited February 24, 2016 by Dazed Quote
Jimryan Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I had a seven string a while back (strung it with a low F#). With this I'm afraid I won't be much help as I don't have it any more (wish I did though). Weight, light for what it is. When I ordered it I was expecting it to weigh a ton but was pleasantly surprised. Best person to ask is BCer "annoyingtwit" he has one too and I believe still owns his. The string spacing is tight but bearable. Do it, order one. Quote
Dazed Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Thanks Jim! I've mailed Thomann again but still no response. For what they cost its hard not to try one, handy 30 day return as well. Quote
Dazed Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Just had a thought, if the 6000/7000 are the same size just using a narrower spacing on the 7 string. Quote
Jimryan Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I usually have a 18mm spacing on my basses and the 7 string felt comfortable, tight but useable. You also have to factor in the strings I was using and it still felt comfortable to play. Do it, you'll love it. Couple it with a delay pedal and you'll be in for a treat. Quote
Dazed Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 Had a message from another site that their 6 string version is 15.5mm. That sound right? That's a lot narrower than I was hoping. Quote

Jimryan Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Rotosounds, a set of dropzone plus for the lower ones and swingbass for the higher Quote
Dazed Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thomann replied: We can’t give any exaxt information about the weight, because it can vary. I weight and measured our bass guitars from the showroom to give you an idea how much it weights. I meassured the spring spacing from the inside edge to insidige edge. Jimryan Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Sorry matey, they were as follows 175 135 105 85 65 40 30 Quote
Dazed Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Thanks Jim, now the obvious question! How does it cope with the bottom end? Quote
Jimryan Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Very well. Mine didn't have any dead spots, just a nice even response all over. The bass coped with the low F# a treat. If it helps, I left a review on the website too. Quote

The pickups are humbuckers but 'narrow' humbuckers rather than big slablike things. I find it comfortable to play. Quote
