Bobzilla Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Hoping someone might be able to help. I've got the 'basic' technique for slap bass down, but my problem is that on anything other than an E string, I'm hitting the lower strings. How do I stop doing that, or at least stop them ringing? Thanks Quote
Horizontalste Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Try practicing slapping something simple like a minor pentatonic etc focusing on getting a clean attack, also try muting with the fleshy parts of your fingers on the left hand. Practice slowly at first then gradually build speed once you have the accuracy down. Oh & don't over do it,ten minutes a day & you'll have it in no time. Quote
Horizontalste Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 & to add to what I mentioned above, if you use a metronome you can work on your sense of time also then to expand on that try playing different rhythms. That way you've given your technique, musicianship & creativity a workout all at once. Quote
