Anyone used 500k pots with P/J/PJ pickups?

Was the tone way too bright?

Had one with a Precision pickup - wasn`t too bright, just clankier really. But then, if it`s bright, turn the highs on the amp down, easily sorted. I swapped back to a 250 and noticed more the presence of the bass returning, rather than lack of highs. Just seemed more full.
