I have had this bass for a while.
It was my "just in case" bass.
I've played it now and again in the bedroom, but no more.
I don't see that changing, and since i have seen another bass i do like, this will help fund that.
This is a lovely bass. Looks great, and plays fantastic.

Very smooth sounding, i think it punches well above it's pricepoint

The ebony fretboard looks fantastic against the white body and mint coloured scratchplate

I don't know much more about the basses origins, but here is the back, showing the serial number. Maybe someone else will be able to tell more from it?

It's a excellent bass, at a excellent price, and a great way to "dip your toes" into the world of fretless without spending a tonne.
Trials are always welcomed.
I will post or courier, but it will be at the buyers risk and expense.
Any questions are welcomed

I can shed light on this bass...

It started life as a Farida FJB-6.

In 2009 I worked for their UK distributor and worked with them on a fretless bass.

2 prototypes arrived in 2010 and I still own and use them daily.

The project was scrapped as I'd specified ebony fingerboards for the model and the costings of having Seymour Duncan pickups and fancier finishes put the basses in an awkwardly expensive price for a relative unknown.

So I had 2 fretless basses of essentially the same spec.

I took 6 Farida FJB's and chose the best one. Difficult really as they're great basses.

I swapped necks from the fretted 6 to one of my fretless bodies and the ebony fingboard neck was put on the 6 body.

I then put Duncan 1/4lb pickups in and changed the pickguard to a mint green one.

I used this bass on an album and UK tour with a singer/songwriter, and I loved it dearly.

I sold it during the buildup to my wedding, and if a new Travis wasn't on the way - I'd be buying it back.

This is a total one off, a superb bass.

Thanks Alain!

Paul 5 - I'm not sure if I'm totally honest.

Andy - Thank you very much for all that information. Far more than I knew about the bass. If I played fretless at all I would keep it. But in the years I've had it, I've never found use for it outside of the house. It is FANTASTIC to play though!

Basswood or Alder I thought...made in China.

Same factory as classic vibe squier and modern player fender.

I have a Farida fretted jazz which is awesome, especially considering I paid £160 for it.

Build quality up with most USA Fenders I've played

Tempted by this.....might put in a cheeky bid if it's still there come pay day

After agreeing a sale on a local facebook site, and having the bass on hold for 2 weeks, the sale has fallen through <_<
So it's up here for the price I did agree on.
Also would look at trades for Precisions now. But for a trade I value this at £300.
I am willing to put a bit of money toward the right bass
