FlatEric
Sounds like a real bargain, if it is not damaged/bashed up. I've got one, in white and it's really nice. Grover tuners!!! Paid a bit more than that!!!!!!!! Pick-ups not quite as sweet as the other Hondo I have but still very nice. http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/hondo-professional.html They are different to the standard fodder. The quick way to spot is the cut in nut - not just planted at the end of the fingerboard. Go and get it. . . . you know you want to!! Bassassin
OK - since this has become a thing, and most of us can't see the pics, this is it: I'd say a bit further down the food chain than Eric's. The guy says the tuners are "apparently" Grovers - but they're clearly generic pressed tin cheapos, so his research doubtless comes from Eric's blog! He does say the body's ply, Eric's is clearly timber. Nothing about this says MIJ to me, apart (perhaps) from the chunky string-through bridge, which is the same as those you find on Yamaki-built Washburns & Daions. However I have seen similar bridges on low-end MIKs, although these usually have chrome saddles rather than brass. Still a cool old bass for £70 though. Jon. Donnyboy
@Donnyboy You could be there and back afore teatime Oh so the wife don't know just stash it at mines
Ardrossan - jeeso that's west of Glasgow. I'll leave it , but thanks for the offer in relation to a secret stash I might actually get round to putting a couple of things up for sale this weekend - but I've been saying that for a least a year...
