RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) I have the above, purchased new and hardly used. Today, I thought I'd hook it up and use it. As soon as I press down with my foot, there is loads of noise . I thought it was the cables , but after using both of my combos I realised that is the footswitch itself. Sounds horrible and rustly . Use mains only. No battery. Crackle crackle crackle . Please advise Cheers Edited February 29, 2016 by RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Quote
neepheid Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Put a battery in it and use it off that instead of PSU and see if the noise continues? Edited February 28, 2016 by neepheid Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Thanks . I'll try that this evening. However, it is an original boss power supply . Will try later. Quote

It's just narrowing things down - if it behaves the same regardless of the power source and you've used known working signal cables then you can probably blame something inside the pedal itself. If the behaviour changes, then it's something to do with how external DC power gets to the pedal. Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Yeah, could be tangled or something. I've been using same adapter on my Roland sampler . No problems there. I've always kept the boss looper I. It's box, and hardly used it . Just very crackly . Will let you know the outcome tonight . Cheers Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 For a split second, when I put battery in everything was OK. Unfortunately, it is the pedal that's broken. Can I get it fixed , or do I bin it ?? Quote
icastle Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 'Crackly' says bad connection to me. Shouldn't be too hard for anyone who can wield a soldering iron to fix. Quote
