danbowskill
I'm wanting to downsize a little from my Ampeg 6x10 to a fairly decent 4x10 round the £500 Mk,this has caught my interest.......has anyone tried it with a valve head for rock type music? ( even better an svt cl head) There isn't any shops to try down my way,Any thoughts?Cheers Edited March 1, 2016 by danbowskill
Lw.
A P-bass, through an SVT, through a 4x10? It's going to sound pretty nice!
gillento
I have no real alltube amp at my disposal. But people do comment on the Mesa Walkabout sounding VERY alltubey. In my ear it sounds great! In case you are using the Ampeg SVT, do make sure you'll get the 4 ohm cab!
danbowskill
Yeah I'm wanting it for my svt cl .....and as you say it has to be 4ohm. I know there are plenty of 2x12 etc cabs that can perform better.........but asphetically with the svt I'm more for a 4x10 Any other ideas on cab ? I didn't really like the ampeg 4x10hlf

Ed_S
I've used a P-bass through a Peavey VB-2 into a 4ohm Markbass 104HR which is pretty close, and that sounded great for hard rock / melodic metal. I've never played through the HF version, but I can't see it sounding bad just for being front ported and a little bit bigger.
