DK101
Is anyone here using Harley Benton cabs? Are they any cop? I'm on a budget and I'm eyeing up the 410 cab. It's 500w 8ohm for £164.
Rik (ESA)
I used to use a 210 for rehearsals, worked a joy for what I asked of it, which was a dirty signal in a loudish 4 piece...
Lw.
The guitar cabs get a bit of love because they've got some quite nice celestion speakers in them but I haven't heard the same about the bass cabs - if you're looking for a decent budget 4x10 you can't go wrong with a used Peavey 410TVX cheap, powerful & reliable. VTypeV4
On a similar buget note, my old Ashton 4x10 was excellent. It was loaded with Celestion drivers too.. BQ410 was the model number.

Beer of the Bass
There was a thread on Talkbass where somebody upgraded the drivers in the HB 2x10", with pictures of the inside of the cab. It looks like a decently made box, in proper plywood rather than MDF or particle board. At that price I'd be inclined to go secondhand though, as you won't lose much if you sell it on later. lefrash
I have the HB2x10. Upgraded the speakers to light ones (kappalites i think). I thought the original speakers were a bit harsh to my ears. New speakers (which to be fair were more expensive thatn the original cab) makes the whole thing light and very nice sounding. 4ohm too. The actual construction seems pretty solid. Mine has been lobbed in and out of vans constantly for a few years now, no issues. Delberthot
Unless you specifically want shiny and new then personally I'd have this instead. I've had loads of these cabs over the years and they can take a serious amount of power
