Hofner Contemporary Club Bass

Was in a local music store today & they had one of the new Contemporary Club basses in. What a difference to the violin bass I had up until this summer. The club sits well on the knee & has a lovely thick sound, much less reedy than the vb!

I think he uses a 3 pup version of one of these... not sure if it is 'his' signature model or that he just happens to be using one. Silly money though

Yes, the CT's are much cheaper. More modern sounding with the sustain block inside & reasonably priced at £425.

My Club isn't a modern one ...

1964 original, with slight revisions to the original colour scheme by a psychedelic German hippy about five years later.

The re-fin was done using household gloss paint with a 2" brush. I'm not kidding.
