Looking at the grill design, there is a lot more aluminium than air in front of the speaker cone, so that will affect the tone. From memory, Bill Fitzmurice recommended aming for 40% metal maximum.

No reason that they shouldn't sound good though, unless that thing about too much alloy is a factor, but i cant see them standing up to gigging, loading, unloading, cosmetic wise

I loved Straker and his crew. I just dont like those cabs - Italian flair has gone a bit too far. Bit marmite maybe. Some will love, some will hate. Thats the joy though !!

To be fair, the black one looks pretty conservative from a distance. I think you could "get away" with that on most gigs.
