charic
Guess it sucks to watch your show if you are off centre of the stage.
It's up to the engineer what they do with the stereo feed I expect it'll get mixed down to mono in larger venues but in a smaller venue the stereo sound can really bring the place to life. Bear in mind we're not talking extreme stereo most of the time (there's a little bit of motion just to catch people off guard sometimes though haha). It just helps with the separation of sounds and makes everything sound "bigger"
Sounds like a hi-fi enthusiast I knew at college. He would invite us to his sitting room but we'd all have to be placed so that we got the full "benefit" of his sound system. He loved his tech so much I often wondered if he was interested in the music at all.
EBS_freak
Not at all. Set up your PA and play a stereo Beatles track through it. Stand to one side of the stage and listen and ask yourself if you are getting the full picture.
