Japhet
I use a SKB pedal board with 8 (I think) 9v outputs on it. I have a Pigtronix Envelope Phaser I'd like to run which needs 18v supply. In the past I've used a DC Brick to power it but I also use a T Rex Chamelion to give me 12v for a couple of pedals and the power supplies take up too much room on the board. Would a cable from 2 of the SKB outputs into 1 do the trick. I've read that to do this they need to be isolated and don't know if these would be. Any advice gladly received. elephantgrey
Gigrig have a few adapters that might do the trick. They have a list of effects and suggested adapters here. Looks like you'll want a doubler. The other option for an 18v pedal is to use some kind of voltage doubler that you plug into two isolated outputs. dannybuoy
Yes you can combine two 9v info 18v but only if they are isolated (yours probably aren't) and you have an adapter that combines them in series (there are some out there that combine in parallel so you can get more current instead of more voltage). There are 9v - 18v vintage doublers from the likes of GigRig and Diago... I've had bad experiences with the Diago versions and the GigRig ones are very expensive so you're likely better off with a separate supply!
