Thunderpaws Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Just watching this recording from 1982. What a damn near perfect bass sound. Immense. Shame his presence in the video feed is minuscule compared to the audio feed though. Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Alembic in stereo - true sonic majesty. Quote
Beedster Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I was bored, no matter what sound quality or technical wizadry might be on tap, bored musicians always disappoint. Quote
spectoremg Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Just listened to a couple of tracks through headphones; toppy, middy, distorted, not a fundamental in sight - everything that's bad about a bass sound. Quote

Maude Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I keep reading the title as "Who lives at the Shea Stadium". I don't know Loyd Grossman, who does live in the Shea Stadium? Quote

Highfox Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Tasty playing and nice tone imo. Good band on support that night as well Quote
The-Ox Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 His Alembics were deadly, although it saddens me to say that i think John caught a case of lead guitar syndrome in the 80s and 90s Quote

I've lost count of the times I've been listening to a good bass solo while the cameraman is focused on a guitarist playing very little. (for example) Quote
