Help, is this a scam? My DB for sale in Spain? Any German speaking BC'ers?

Hi there all,

As the title suggests. I'm wondering if this is a scam? I advertised this double bass a David Gage "Czech Ease" on the marketplace here a while back. As it hadn't sold, I also advertised it elsewhere, using the same pics.

Helpful BC member Azumi messaged me to say he'd seen the bass for sale in Spain. I assure you, it's currently withdrawn from sale, and this morning was still in my house, in Cardiff!

I have emailed the website, and I think, messaged the "seller". The site is in German, so I had to email in English, as my German is not good. Could this just be someone in Spain, selling a similar bass? who has just decided to "borrow" my photos? I'm not too bothered by them infringing copyright on this occasion. I would hate to think though, that someone is about to part with over £2K, for a bass the seller doesn't have!

Any advice fellow BC'ers? Does it look like a scam? - certainly does to me

Do any fellow BC'ers speak German? Could you also email them, to find out details?

Cheers all

EDIT: Is there any more I can do, other than email the website to alert them?

Hi There,

the Site is legit, I've bought from them before. As for the seller, who knows.
I speak fluent German. PM me the text, in English, that you would like to send them. I'll translate it and send to the site ir seller as you wish. I can also help you handle any further correspondence.
I'm on the road at present, so may be a little slow in answering messages from you. Still, I'll do my best.

Cheers
Paul.

EDIT: p.s. You'll probably be OK with English though. Most Germans, and particularly in a music context, speak very good English.

Was just going to say the same as SIC above Marc, most (if not all) German folk, speak very good english, AFAIK they are taught english in school from a very early age..so I wouldn't worry about a language barrier.

Hopefully they've just 'borrowed' your pic..
