BigRedX
Okay, so some acts had more than 1 "hit". Let's just revel in the pop-tastic glory of the main hits of the acts listed.
But in that case you could make a pretty good argument that James count as a one-hit wonder with "Sit Down" despite the fact that they had another 18 singles that made the UK top 40, because no-one apart from fans of the band will have remembered any of the others - I certainly couldn't have named another one before I went and looked up that information. paul_5
Does 'Groove is in the heart' by Dee-Lite count? Great use of a Herbie Hancock baseline too.
fleabag
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuup ! Great song. That Lady Miss Kier or whatever she called herself, looked like she'd been injection moulded into that multicolour body suit And what a dancer - like a Black Mamba on grease
BigRedX
Airport - The Motors
Unsurprisingly not one-hit wonders. Although the song that I thought was also successful - "Dancing The Night Away" - didn't quite make the top 40. They did have a hit with "Forget About You" which got to number 13. VH1 is an American channel and while Carl Douglas was most definitely a one-hit wonder in the US he wasn't here in the UK.
