Forever Autumn by Jeff Wayne?

But the actual performance was by Justin Hayward, who was hardly a stranger to the charts.

Neither are Jagger and Bowie strangers to the hit parade, but by the criteria of this thread as it was the only hit from 'Bowie & Jagger' this qualifies:

Crazy Elephant . Gimme Gimmie Some Lovin`. Always reminds me of a summer type song for some reason.

Back of my Hand - The Jags - a cracking song that I always enjoyed playing with my band .

I'd forgotten all about that! Cracking power-pop, You Tube here I come...

This might have already come up but I'd suggest Dance Yourself Dizzy by Liquid Gold. I grew up in Brackley and it was very cool at the time (1980, I was 11) that a band from our little town was on Radio 1 and TOTP. They had a couple of other minor hits but this was the big one.

Frankenstein - Edgar Winter group
Radar Love - Golden Earring
First picture of you - The Lotus Eaters
Mary's Prayer - Danny Wilson
E=MC2 - Big Audio Dynamite
Street Life - The Crusaders
Pick up the pieces - AWB

I won't suggest Joe Cocker's version of With A little Help From My Friends this time.

How about Resurrection Shuffle by Ashton, Gardner and Dyke.

The drummer in the band I was in taught Roy Dyke that drum pattern.

Love the AWB song, although they went on to have quite a few more hits including 'Let's go round again'.
Nobody mentioned these yet?
How 'bout us - Champaign
Ain't no stopping us now - McFadden and Whitehead
How long - Ace

After doing some Google homework, It seems 'Walking in Memphis' BY Marc Cohn is classed as a one hit wonder.
Love the tune and the Piano playing. I am not really one for getting into lyrics, but there are some great lines in there.

After more digging, 'The Way It Is' by Bruce Hornsby is also down as a one hit wonder.

Both similar in style. Again great Piano playing.

I think Guy Pratt's Bass line on that is terrific.

He had two other top ten hits and two more top-twentiers - hardly a one-hit wonder!
