He had two other top ten hits and two more top-twentiers - hardly a one-hit wonder!

Crazy Elephant . Gimme Gimmie Some Lovin`. Always reminds me of a summer type song for some reason.

[/quote]great song with possibly the most badly played guitar solo in the history of the universe, starts at about 1:20.

Right up there with The Bonzo's "Canyons Of Your Mind" and "Steven Does" by The Swell Maps for awfulness!

My first single, given to me by my Mum. I actually preferred the B side. Gold star if you know the songs name?

I Lost My Heart To a Starship Trooper by Sarah Brightman & Hot Gossip. Why? Donna Fielding (short blonde member with the Purdy cut), my all-time crush by a nautical mile. And yes, I'm aware that all she does is dance. ;-)

Great thread and some great tunes listed.

Crash by the Primitives? Fascinating Rhythm by Bassomatic?

Only made number 15 in the UK but was massive in Europe.

Bassomatic is essentially William Orbit, so hardly a one-hit-wonder.

Lots of good choices above - brought back a lot of memories :)

My choices would be something like Tenpole Tudor - Swords of a Thousand Men

or from the same era, Men Without Hats - Safety Dance

A bit poppie I know, but I was about 10 or 11 when this came out

But when I think of one hit wonders, this always comes to mind, not sure why...

Maybe I should start a parallel thread to this on the subject of popular bands that you wish had been one hit wonders, could be a few candidates in there :P

You know, that's exactly what I expected you to say. ;-)
