I bought some Gotoh GB707 machine heads last year and was going to put them on my Fender Aerodyne. I also just bought some GB350 ResOLites and realised they were different.

The GB707s are 4 in line Right Tuners, that is for a left hand bass.

My immediate thought was to sell them but I am wondering what would be the issues with using the tubers the wrong way around.

I would have to modify the headstock to use them so I am not keen to suck it and see. Any opinions appreciated.

As far as I can see, it would work. The only modification would be drilling the holes for the screw on the other side of the hole for the tuning post.

If I were you I'd fit one, without drilling the fixing screw hole and see how it goes, even if you can't get full tension, you'll see if it fits.

[/quote]Yes I should have thought of that. I will try it and see what happens Thanks.

You need to have the tuning knob the other side of the cog to the string departure direction otherwise the cogs will be pulling apart and you'll end up with slippage.
