40hz
So I have a brand new TC bh550, just jamming away with my Warwick on it via the headphone socket and happened to brush the back of my arm on the strings and received a tingly shock akin to a 9v battery shock. I also noticed the hairs on my arms were all standing on end. I tried it again and received the same thing. Now I get static shocks all the time from my car and I think its down to my cheap, Asos desert boots, so I took them off and tried it again and all was well, I tried with my jazz bass again and that was fine too, no shocks or hairs on end. Just looking for a 2nd opinion here before I take stuff to be properly looked at, or send the week old TC back. Could the shoes really cause this? Seems crazy to me. Thanks guys (A quite worried 40hz) EDIT/Solved - Traced it to a dodgy extension lead. Scary stuff! Edited March 13, 2016 by 40hz
mikeydee
I guess if it is associated with the shoes then I guess you or it are getting charged with static. Are you wearing a fleece per chance? If the fault can only be repeated with those shoes, then unlikely it is the amp in my view.
