funkyjimbob Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 HI, I have recently purchased a Fender Jazz American Deluxe 5 for a great price and have noticed that there is a very large difference in output between the two pickups. The Neck pickup is loud as expected but when I switch to the bridge pickup the output is extremely thin. It this normal for these pickups? A tech friend had a brief look at it and said all seemed to be fine with the soldering etc. I know nothing about these pickups so any advice would be great. Quote
thebassist Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Doesn't sound right to me. They should be about even in my opinion. May be worth taking to a shop to check up? Quote
funkyjimbob Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Yeah it seems realllllyyy thin so thought that may be the case. Was thinking about swapping the pups out. Quote
funkyjimbob Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 I'll get a video up of it when I get a chance. Quote
funkyjimbob Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Been offered some Nordstrands so probably them. Are the Entwistle JBXN's any good too? Seem quite cheap? Quote
thebassist Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Don't know anything about Entwistles and have only heard good things about Nordstrands - never owned any mind. I've had some Aguilar hum cancelling pickups before that were very good in my opinion. I might get some for a 5er I've got coming myself. Quote

I've heard they have a very high output. Quote
