Yes. I bought one and sent it back the next day, pickup was quite strong with plenty of power and it was light so lovely..... not. I couldn't get on with the neck and it just felt cheap so bye bye.

If they are anything like their amps, I wouldn't bother....

I watched the video and I liked the sound of the bass. Except when he went up the dusty end and soloed over the backing track - sounded out of tune to me, should have checked the intonation before filming that methinks...

I saw these a year or so ago when they first announced. Especially liked the look of the orange (coloured) one with comes with a black and a white pick guard.

Then they revealed the price and I changed my mind. There's a place for cheap instruments, I'm certainly not against them and own a few, but I was really envisioning this as a premium instrument to go with their amps.

It seems to be a continuing trend of modern gear that looks retro. I want to like it more than I actually do and I think there are plenty who are taking the same theme and doing it better. I'm sure it's not without its charm but not for me.

As a fan of Orange Amplification and having just become aware of the Orange O Bass I was naturally wondering if any of the good peeps of Bass Chat had any experience of them - good, bad or indifferent?

We've had a couple of threads in the past with very divided opinion. Personally I think they are the first retro looking bass I've not got excited about. They look small and being well over 6' this puts me off. The build quality looks alright - I did have a proper look in Dawsons the other week and they look less budget-y looking in real life. I could see why people would go for one, just not me.
