AndyTravis
Pickguard looks awful. Shame that. Cool idea.
MoonBassAlpha
Looks like a Danelectro, or some other cheapo nasty from the 60s.
Billy Apple
I saw one at the LBGS this weekend. Meh, unremarkable
casapete
Mmm, the Dano similarity is obviously why I'm quite liking the look of this then......
Grahambythesea
Hofner club meets Fender Precision, not a happy matching!
cocco
I like it. It's a bit quirky.
BrunoBass
Dawsons are pushing these again. Anyone played one yet? http://www.dawsons.co.uk/orange-o-electric-bass-guitar Edited September 25, 2016 by PaulGibsonBass
tom1946
Yes. I bought one and sent it back the next day, pickup was quite strong with plenty of power and it was light so lovely..... not. I couldn't get on with the neck and it just felt cheap so bye bye.
Freddy Le Cragg
[quote name='tom1946' timestamp='1474740902' post='3140198'] Yes. bigsmokebass
Played one in work and surprisingly, a really cool bass for the cash. Looks are deceiving for this little beast.
paul_5
I watched the video and I liked the sound of the bass. Except when he went up the dusty end and soloed over the backing track - sounded out of tune to me, should have checked the intonation before filming that methinks... AmsterdamAsh
I saw these a year or so ago when they first announced. Especially liked the look of the orange (coloured) one with comes with a black and a white pick guard. Then they revealed the price and I changed my mind. There's a place for cheap instruments, I'm certainly not against them and own a few, but I was really envisioning this as a premium instrument to go with their amps. Cat Burrito
It seems to be a continuing trend of modern gear that looks retro. I want to like it more than I actually do and I think there are plenty who are taking the same theme and doing it better. I'm sure it's not without its charm but not for me. LemonCello
As a fan of Orange Amplification and having just become aware of the Orange O Bass I was naturally wondering if any of the good peeps of Bass Chat had any experience of them - good, bad or indifferent? Cat Burrito
We've had a couple of threads in the past with very divided opinion. Personally I think they are the first retro looking bass I've not got excited about. They look small and being well over 6' this puts me off. The build quality looks alright - I did have a proper look in Dawsons the other week and they look less budget-y looking in real life. I could see why people would go for one, just not me.
