timmyo Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Hi folks, How would you characterise the neck profile on a Sterling? What other types or brands of bass are likely to have something similar (which to my ill-informed hands seems to be narrow compared to a P, but deeper compared to the slim neck on my Squire CV Jazz) Suggestions? :-) Thanks T Quote
fretmeister Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 But there are variations in jazz profiles. The Geddy Lee is very thin for example. Quote
dannybuoy Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 If you want Jazz width but chunkier front-to-back, my Sandberg Basic falls into that category, not sure if the necks are the same across their range though. Quote
TheRev Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Mine has the same width as a typical Jazz, but is fatter from front to back. Quote

[/quote] Cheers Rev (and others :-) ) - yes I have a CV Jazz and they *feel* very different - the depth on the Sterling seems to make the whole thing just sit nicer in the hand. Are there Jazzes out there that would be close/similar - particular eras/styles or brands? Thanks all for the replies - I know very little about these things! ta Tim Quote
fretmeister Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 The Fender Urge 2 has a lovely neck that sits between a P and J. Very comfy. Not really in fashion at the mo so bargains can be found. Quote
