Didn't Ritter make one for $250,000? I'm pretty certain of that but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Beat me to it.

Gibson made a similar thing but an SG... And charged $2m for it!

I almost bought Jack Bruce's Warwick Hellborg rig when it was being sold - looking at the mark up his ownership seems to give maybe I should have!

I like Ritters but that's pretty awful....

I like the body wood/finish, but the rest of it is unnecessarily tart's-handbag and as a result the whole thing just looks tacky.

I know Ritter know what they are doing when it comes to guitar construction, but that top horn looks worryingly fragile to me.

Wood (especially hard woods) is amazingly strong stuff. You don't have to make everything as chunky and lumpy as a Fender.

Paul McCartney bought the double bass played on the classic Elvis tracks by Bill Black. Given what that bass means to the world, it would have been a serious bit of money.

When Macca goes, his instruments will raise a king's ransom. I reckon they should all besought by a national museum (I've had this argument before that they are culturally more significant than most of the paintings we snap up for hundreds of millions of pounds every year).

"Pretty awful"? - It's absolutely hideous. Possibly the most horrible looking bass I have ever seen :o

Do we buy lots of used paint brushes? I suppose they're worth money to someone but really it's the art that is being bought not the tools.

I'm sure if his collection contains any of the masters or original recording tapes they'll go for crazy money!

If the brushes of famous artists were around and were provable, I suspect they would sell for millions. The brushes used to paint Sunflowers, anyone?
