CamdenRob Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016
Didn't Alembic produce something in the 90s as an anniversary model with a list around $30k?
Their current price list has something called a "Classico Deluxe" which starts at $34,000 before you've added any options... Quote

It matches the body finish so a win for me. Quote
That's lovely apart from the gold icing on the pickups. Although I wouldn't bother with the black diamonds and mammoth tusk, perhaps he'd do one for me without those bits for £100. Quote
leschirons Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016
I know Ritter know what they are doing when it comes to guitar construction, but that top horn looks worryingly fragile to me.
What the handle, yeah I thought that too Quote
cybertect Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited)
Paul McCartney bought the double bass played on the classic Elvis tracks by Bill Black. Given what that bass means to the world, it would have been a serious bit of money.
FWIW it was Linda who bought it as a birthday present for Paul. Edited March 19, 2016 by cybertect Quote
Dazed Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) The original point was more " look a non jewel encrusted not painted in ambergrist" bass for 18 grand! Not so much how many shinies can you stick in an instrument to make it as expensive as possible and put it in a case for eternity. The thread title is probably misleading in that sense.
