crashdesk Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Hi, I am trying to get me head around this. I will be buying a Fender 40 Rumble v2. It has a line out. I will be practicing most of the time at home so it will be headphones or turned down low. At the weekend I have access to a practice room with a PA. Can I use the line out to go directly into the PA? (for jamming with drummer) Thanks, C Quote
lowhand_mike Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 the manual for the Rumble 15/30/75 says this "LINE OUT Balanced output to connect to external devices such as PA systems and recording consoles. Use a balanced stereo cable (TRS→XLR or TRS→TRS) to reduce noise and hum. Mono (unbalanced) cables can also be used, but may be noisier. The level and tone of the LINE OUT signal is affected by all pre-amp controls, including Volume." so in a word yes Quote
Stylon Pilson Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That said, make sure you get the lead yourself. While rehearsal rooms often provide XLR-XLR leads, I doubt you'll find a TRS-XLR lead as part of the standard provided kit. S.P. Quote
crashdesk Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 I will pick one up tomorrow Stylon. Ta! Quote
bonzodog Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Most pas should have a TRS input too so you may be able to just use a TRS lead both ends but if you do use aN XLR to plug into pa then it needs to be a male XLR end fitting Quote
