Stefanogregori
Hi all, I don't know if I'm being picky here but I would like an opinion from the basschat community please. I bought an EBS Multicomp off eBay. The photo was a stock photo on the advert, the first photo below. What I actually received is the second photo below. Should I contact the seller? Apart from the aesthetics, are they the same pedal? It seems I have been sent an older model of the pedal but the picture advertised is a newer model of the pedal. It seems the model advertised has true bypass but the one I received hasn't. Can anyone help me with some facts about these 2 pedals and some opinions on what I should do please? Thanks
colgraff
They look very similar and I suspect the photo was an honest mistake by the seller. How does the price that you paid compare to the retail price? If I was in your position, I'd probably not complain about it, but that's just me. Muppet
Was it advertised as true bypass in the description and/or did you buy it for that reason?
thodrik
You have got an earlier version. Personally I wouldn't make a big deal of it. It is pretty much the exact same pedal.
Stefanogregori
If it's pretty much the same pedal then I'm not going to worry about it. Cheers
EBS_freak
Stick with it.. It's a better pedal. Pre China manufacturing. The buffered pedal > true bypass. Pre sh*t switch.
aldude
I'd stick with it too. Difference between buffered and true bypass is incredibly minor and unnoticable in most cases, especially for a decent buffered bypass, which the EBS undoubtedly should be. Also... http://www.ovnilab.c...multicomp.shtml : "The buffered bypass is just as good as the true bypass." EDIT: It also depends on how you will use it. If you leave it on all the time, like I do with a compressor pedal, why would you need a true bypass?! Stefanogregori
Thanks for all your respones, it sounds like I got a better pedal then! Gonna stick with it and not worry about it!
mcnach
If you *need* a true bypass switch, then return it... but chances are you don't, and other than that it's just the same great compressor. I like the Multicomp a lot, I have two in fact! (not used at the same time!). I use it as an -always on- pedal, so the type of bypass really means nothing to me.
