jonnythenotes Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 A friend of mine has a pretty standard looking P bass hanging on his wall...( he's a drummer who once had a dabble on the bass,) and it intrigued me a bit. I have recently bought my first ever precision, a MIM model, and its made me take notice of other P basses in an attempt to try and expand my knowledge on the P model. My friends bass is red with a white scratchplate, but the controls are a stacked volume/tone nearest the neck and a four or five position switch located where the tone control is normally found on a P. This seems to allow fine tuning of the tone control, which as I mentioned earlier, is built into the stack knob. It's not active as there is no battery compartment on the back, and unless you get close up, looks identical to any other P bass. It's a MIM model, and that's as much as I know... Is this a standard build model, or is it a more unusual model...? Quote
DBerriff Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 He might have fitted one of these: http://www.stellartone.com/Page.asp?NavID=318 and retained the original pot/capacitor. Bass Direct sells them. Quote
