Hipshot extender for low(ish) Tuning

Hey guys, sorry if this topic has been discussed before, but I couldn't find one.

I'm considering getting a Hipshot extender for my new Sandberg, and I'v heard a few stories saying they dont work well with lower tunings.
Has anybody had experience with them? and more importantly using one to switch between lower tunings. In my case it will be C# to B.

Any help would be apreciated

I use one for B to A, no problems
