dannybuoy
Looks a bit different doesn't it! He says he can apply a range of patterns and finishes as they are built to order too. http://www.retrovibe.co.uk/custom/django.html

paul h
That's awesome. I still play my Aero2 regularly! A red snakeskin would be cool
dannybuoy
I'd be interested to see what other finishes could be applied... I guess they are photo laminates like the old MIJ Fender Fotoflame basses, so it could be pretty much anything that could be printed. NoirBass
Yeah, I'd like to see a few other finishes too. TBH I quite fancied one of these in plain old butterscotch.
dannybuoy
This just reminded me of another thread, it's more likely hydro-dipping than the old Fotoflame technique, e.g: http://hydrodip-designs.co.uk/gallery/ http://www.liquid-grafix.co.uk/custom-instruments.html
discreet
This just reminded me of another thread, it's more likely hydro-dipping than the old Fotoflame technique...
This from D Konig, I hope he doesn't mind me reproducing it here: "The finish is in fact a craft paper which is glued to the primed bass body then sealed with many coats of nitrocellulose lacquer. This gives it a high-gloss, hard-wearing finish. The process of gluing the paper does add a certain amount of texture to the finish so it is not as glass-like as a painted finish, but the slight texture only adds to the snake effect in my opinion." So there you have it. Edited March 24, 2016 by discreet
discreet
Just noticed these have a Wilkinson SC Pickup fitted, too... that's interesting.

Highfox
I'm trying not to be a fanboi but.. tell you what, these Retrovibe basses really are great value for money if my Renegade is anything to go by.

kodiakblair
Saw that on Mr K's FB page last week and think it looks great. So far I've remained strong though and not ordered one, no idea what finish to choose and I'm not too keen on the headstock Stinger preamp to order for the Super-P before buying another Retrovibe.
