Loose control plate screws

I've finally decided that I need to make a permanent repair to the loose fitting scres that hold on the control plate on my jazz. Other than slightly adjusting he angle they screw in at, and jamming matches in the holes, what is the solution?

Wood glue and dowels/cocktail sticks/matches.

Blob of glue in the hole.
Tap in your wood of choice.

Leave for a while, to let the glue set. (A few hours).

Trim off excess timber.


Refit your plate.


Enjoy and bask in the glory of a job well done.
