Kevin Dean
I've had a couple of band rehearsals & one gig with my Barefaced super compact & while rehearsing today it seemed that there was a jump in volume & more low end . I guess that's the cab breaking in ? what's actually happening out of interest ?
Dood
As I understand it, when a speaker 'breaks in', it is the edge of the cone (the bit connected to the frame that flexes) essentially becoming less stiff and more pliable. This allows the cone to move more freely back and forth tracking the incoming signal. The results being as noticed.

Bill Fitzmaurice
I'm sure my cab became louder ?
Probably not, at least not by an audible amount. Break in isn't that dramatic.
