Thanks Bubs - wiled away a bit of time looking at that site. It shined a light on some things - other references leave me even more confused .The songs are so good and the odd references and obscure lyrics somehow make them even better.

IMO this is one of best grooves I've ever heard. Donal Fagen, Tom Barney again. Walter B. When i play with any musicians i want them to be as tight as these guys. its a big ask but if you don't ask, you won't get it. always best to look further than what you can play and push yourself imo. what i mean is timing, nuance, I'm obsessed with timing and playing around the beat, in an honest way and not a flamboyant one. this is just an excellent groove.
