Hello to you all

I have been lucky enough to get a lovely Fiesta Red CV P with Custom Shop 60's pick up and a vintage style bridge.

I now want to upgrade the machine heads. What would be the best direct replacement please, preferably some that will fit in the original screw holes.

Thanks

Mike (Pestie)

Save your money, the stock hardware on CV basses is decent quality (or at least they are on the older Pino CVs - mine is 2010 and I have no complaints about accuracy or stability when it comes to tuning). Personally I would only consider swapping them out for something like Gotoh Resolites for weight saving purposes.

If you are having issues with the tuning, make sure that it isn't being caused by the strings not being fitted properly and stretched in evenly (which can be an issue if the previous owner didn't stretch them in even if they have been on the bass for months). Apologies if this is statement of the obvious.

I had a CV Precision, and currently own a Matt Freeman one (CV in all but name)... I find the tuners more than adequate too. Are you looking for a 'vintage' look?

Having bought a set of Gotoh Resolites I have to
say, if I was looking to replace tuners ever again it would be with them. They are simply incredible tuners and a direct replacement fit.
