Shambo Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 This joker is asking top dinero for an entirely unremarkable hard case on the premise of it being well...vintage & original. I know some sellers can get carried away with the hyperbole, dreaming of unrealistic prices for everyday instruments, but for a hard case? Highfox Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Not really in the know about the cases, and don't know how vintage that even is.. look's nothing like my 1970 case I'd go with a new Hiscox anyday Quote

If they do then they've got more money than sense and can safely be ignored... Quote

Bassassin Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Ages ago someone gave me a Gibson LP Custom Shop hard case. Had a clearout & ended up sticking it on Ebay (99p, no reserve) and it got bid up to about £170 - which someone happily paid! Maybe Gibbo guitar cases are special (I wouldn't know) but plainly people can and do pay silly money for a box with a handle. Jon. Quote

Hobbayne Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I had a 1995 P bass that came in that type of case, so its hardly 'vintage' Quote
Roger2611 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I think it is a late 70's / 80's case, I guess if you have a mint Precision with non original case it would be worth having, at £70.00 posted I would probably take it for my 79 Precision but at £140.00 it is too expensive. I brought a USA Strat last year just for the case, the guitar was offered cheap enough to buy it, take the case and sell the guitar on for slightly more than i paid for it so my 62 reissue now has a genuine Fender case Quote
discreet Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 If it's the genuine article it's in very good condition, thus possibly worth it. Quote
Shambo Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 I think this is a nineties case. To the right buyer it's worth more but it stuck out like a sore thumb because it is clearly neither vintage nor valuable. Quote
LewisK1975 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Check this one out if you thought the other one was expensive! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Vintage-1961-1962-1963-Fender-Jazz-Precision-P-Bass-Guitar-Hard-Case/141940353900?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3Dfe33c710d47d42919bc6f8aee003e26c%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D201532995325 Quote
