NoirBass Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) Not mine, but I'd never seen one in LPB before apart from the original CV's. Looks good, refin? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Telecaster-Bass-1972-CBS-vintage-Fullerton-/281985140276?hash=item41a79fc634:g:5ikAAOSwZtJW-t6k Edited March 30, 2016 by NoirBass Quote
Beedster Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Lovely, but needs to put ashtray on the right way round! Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Pretty groovy. I would say it's an excellent refin. But I obviously don't know Quote
Chiliwailer Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) I'd say refin though hard to say without looking and black lighting. It may of had work done, the tone pot and what I guess is extra shielding on the edge of the cavity. The pick up and pots could potentially just lift out without unsoldering, which is why the volume pot soldering looks legit. And I've never seen fender paint rub off like that on a wire before. I don't like how the pickup cavity or channel paint looks either. Shame there aren't more pics of the neck, does the wear on the neck match the body? Plus, when they say the 'jury is out', they usually know! Edited March 30, 2016 by Chiliwailer Quote
AndyTravis Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Anyone else look on eBay for a Squier version to respray? First thing I did. Gorgeous. Quote

Chiliwailer Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016
Doesn't it have a foam mute on it, that will engage with the strings if rotate the other way round? Does the neck heel break into the pickup cavity on all Tele basses? The back of the pickup looks a lot different from the one I'm selling, and all others I've seen pictures of. Never seen those C-stamped gasket things before.
The pickup looks right to me, as does the soldering to the volume pot. Fender and consistency back then was pretty hit and miss. The neck heel does break into the pickup cavity on these as the pickup is so close to the neck. Never tried spinning a cover around that has foam on it, could be the reason Quote
