I saw on the EB boards that in 2009 they'll be bringing out both a new bass and a new guitar to mark 25 years sice they took over Musicman

Sterling Ball : "Very Very Different.....25 year anniversary models and no limited....There will be a bass and a guitar that are a serious departure for us........... "

they do loads of Limiteds and added extra pickups etc but they're not exactly known for punting out new models every other year. in the 15 years since the Sterling first showed they've only brought out the Bongo.

First MM without a humbucker?

I've just added my sixpence to the thread.

I think to be feasible it has to be something like an acoustic / semi acoustic / chambered body, passive(possibly with Villex pickup(s) and booster) or a very long shot of fanned frets.
