funkle
The 70s I like better than the 60s - more hi mids - though I like the HC best of all. I do not like the hot wound pickups, they are too dark. Thanks JT, I may have found some good contenders for replacing the Barts in my Pedulla Rapture (they are just a little dark for my taste, and not enough hi mids). bubinga5
I don't like the Aguilar's at all. Better than stock US jazz pickups but way behind many others Ive tried They sound generic and soft to me Get Fralins, best Ive ever tried bar none!
yep Lindy Fralins are incredible pickups. Very expensive also.
Guest Jecklin
I'm not really a jazz bass fan, but I enjoyed that video. For me I'd want the 60's or the HOTS. Of course until they were under my fingers playing my music it's all without context. Edited April 17, 2016 by Jecklin
Treb
A Dutch bass & guitar builder uploaded some soundclips of different J-pickups (Nordstrand, Lollar, Aguilar, Fralin): https://soundcloud.com/degierguitars/sets Look for the BeBop (his take on a J-bass) soundclips.
