Owen Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I have just put a set of La Bella 0760M (Jamerson ones, dontchyaknow) on a 35" scale bass. G,D,A and B are fine and dandy. E is 1.5cm short with the silk protruding over the nut. It goes to tension and all that, but I just wonder why the rest of the set are fine and this is not? How I laughed. Quote
E sharp Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I had this with Elites with my rear loaded stingray on the E sting only . I just now never buy strings with silked ends Quote
EssentialTension Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 That sounds like a medium scale string got mixed in with a long scale set at the La Bella factory. Email them and they might send a replacement. Quote
Owen Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 It turns out the set on a 35" scale feels like solid rods of steel so they are coming of in the next 10 minutes and going on a 33". Quote
Owen Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 Not my day. I have just put a set of TI Powerbass strings on the same bass. I had been saving them for the right occasion. This was not it. Comedy short B string again. Cannot even slice silk off as the windings begin to taper before the nut. Quote
KiOgon Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Have a look at the GHS Flats - not just for Precisions http://www.ghsstrings.com/products/11278-bass-precision-flatstm?category_id=1964710-precision-flatstm 38" for you? Quote
