cheddatom
surely that would play like a knife through butter? I guess a bass that plays like butter would be great as long as it was colder than room temperature
sbrag
Id go playabilty. Ive sold great sounding basses cos i couldn't get on with the necks (Gibson G3 and Peavey T20 spring to mind) and as much as i live the looks and tone of Rics and Tbirds i have the feel of them. In saying that i like the feel of all my basses at the moment but my yamaha is still my go to for gigs as it sounds the best.
RandomBass
Playability. Faff around with gadgets ro get the tone if necessary, they can't sort the playability.
RandomBass
Here you go: Not only plays like butter but it's also a Precision. Case closed! Edit: [s]no pic... i'll take care of that[/s] done!
I can't believe its not better.
BigRedX
Of course everyone knows that in the end it's how a bass looks that really counts! ;-)
blue
If your a gigging bass player I think playability, good action, right neck fit for you, and intonation are key. Blue
Woodinblack
I would have always said playability, until I got a dingwall combustion 1, which was possibly the most playable bass I ever had owned. Unfortunately I couldn't get a useable tone out of it (and my bandmates hated it), so I could never play it live, so it because a bit pointless to have. So reluctantly I said tone.
