Shonks Posted April 7, 2016 Share Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) i recently bought an amp and cab off a guy. I didn't need the cab but it was part of the deal . The cab is a conversion from a laney combo, he said he did it himself. He also told me the speaker in it was a 300 watt eminence but when I took it out for a look {after I got it home) it had no label or markings. The speaker admittedly handled the Eden 300 watt amp ok, before I took it out to see, - I wasn't pushing it mind you, but after seeing it I decided not to to risk it testing its limits. Because the combo is labeled as a Laney P100 I'm now assuming it's probably the speaker from that combo. Probably a 100 watts. 8 ohm, possibly 200 watt peak, could even be 150 watts as a lot of combos will have a speaker installed which should obviously easily handle the installed amp. The guy might even have been telling the truth....I doubt it. So there you have it - you know what I know. Its ok, sounds alright, and for the price..hey..can't go to far wrong. I built a cab once and paid £20 just the the grill so this has to be useful to someone round here.
